Integrated Pest Management Program
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is the most advanced pest management program available in today's market. Mantis Pest Controls IPM service approach utilizes preventative and corrective pest management strategies that include inspection, monitoring, managed product use, and record keeping. This program is an excellent method of resolving pest concerns and Mantis Pest Control will design a custom IPM program to meet your needs.
Inspection Mantis Pest Control technicians are trained to conduct thorough inspections and identify pests that may be present in your facility. Visual inspections of interior and exterior conditions will provide valuable information regarding the location of active pest infestations and possible control strategies. Additionally, the inspections target areas that are particularly sensitive to insect activity.
Monitoring Insect monitors are strategically placed in the facility to trap portions of the pest population and identify areas of other pest activity. Additionally, your Pest Sighting Log keeps a running record of pest sightings to monitor the level of activity on a continuing basis. This monitoring component is an integral part of our recurring service.
Managed Product Use The goal of IPM is to develop a comprehensive system of handling pest management issues without total reliance on pesticide products. For example, our technician may caulk a harborage zone in order to eliminate a pest access point. However, we will also use Government approved products to resolve infestations. Baiting and trapping techniques are used extensively to minimize the use of pesticide applications to the facility. Your participation is essential to managed product use. Proper sanitation and the reduction of other conditions that are conductive to infestations will help maximize the effectiveness of our services. As with any partnership, your cooperation and participation are valued and appreciated.
Service Visits Your IPM Program consists of a comprehensive initial service followed by regularly scheduled services.
Initial Services Mantis Pest Control will conduct an intensive initial service to reduce the pest population below the threshold level you have established.
This includes a thorough inspection to evaluate pest activity, identify access entry points, and determine treatment strategies. Complete access to storage rooms, utility rooms, kitchen and food storage areas, docks, stairwells, electrical rooms, and other critical areas is an essential part of this process. During this initial treatment, Mantis Pest Control will:
Place monitors in sensitive areas where food, water, or harborage may be present.
Seal small cracks and crevices with a latex or silicone caulk to reduce harborage areas.
Install exterior rodent bait stations to reduce rodent population around dumpsters, docking areas and main drains.
Treat wall voids and baseboards with a residual dust and/or gel treatment to control cockroach populations.
Provide exterior liquid and/or granular treatment to reduce current pest populations.
Remove rodents or insects found during the service.
Provide assessments of structural deficiencies or sanitation issues that may contribute to infestations.
Monthly Service The purpose of the monthly service is to continuously maintain the pest population below established threshold levels. In addition to the services listed above, your service technician will:
Perform a thorough inspection.
Review the Pest Sightings Log.
Replace monitors and other products as necessary.
Inspect potential harborage areas for signs of recent activity.
Make recommendations to reduce conditions conductive to infestations.
